💔 “The 6-year-old child’s birthday party was empty when mom posted a photo, and the neighborhood rallied to help.” 😫

LIFE STORIES

It was supposed to be the best day of Teddy’s childhood, but it turned out to be horrible for him. For his sixth birthday, his parents had planned to take him to Disney World or Lego Land, but he wanted to spend it with his friends. Teddy’s mother booked a table at Peter Piper’s Pizza about two weeks before the big day and gave thirty-two invitations to Teddy’s teacher, asking them to distribute one to each student in the class.

More than half of the child’s parents had said they would bring their children to the celebration. On Teddy’s birthday, his mother, Sia, prepared gift bags for her son’s friends and ordered a huge pizza. Even though everyone hoped it would be an absolute joy, no students showed up. After more than sixty minutes of waiting, the friends were nowhere to be seen. After that, Sia was devastated.

She was heartbroken for her child, who was having a very difficult day that was supposed to be fun. Teddy’s father told the New York Post, “I was upset. They definitely crushed us.” To try to cheer up their child, the parents tried to distract him with activities like arcade games. Sia decided to take a photo of Teddy and share it online to raise awareness that something like this should never happen to anyone.

Hundreds of people emailed their birthday wishes to Teddy, many of them including gifts. To make Teddy’s day a little better, the Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Rising MLS teams invited the family to their upcoming games. On behalf of all the other parents who chose not to bring their children to the celebration, only one parent expressed their regrets to Sia.
