That day, a young woman named Victoria was driving home along a country road. She was driving calmly, staying within the speed limit, and carefully watching the road signs. The weather was pleasant, and there were only a few cars on the highway, so she had no reason to expect any trouble.
After a while, a patrol car appeared in her rearview mirror. The officers switched on their flashing lights and signaled Victoria to pull over to the side of the road.
The young woman immediately complied, turned off the engine, and rolled down the window. A tall, broad-shouldered officer with a stern face approached her. The second traffic officer stayed a few steps behind, carefully watching her through the open window.
“Your documents,” the first officer said curtly.

“Think you’re smart, huh?” the second officer sneered as he stepped closer. “Just sit quietly while we’re being nice to you.”
Victoria looked at one officer and then the other.
“I’m speaking calmly. You’re the ones behaving rudely and stopping people without explaining why. Please identify yourselves and state the legal basis for this stop.”
The first officer angrily tossed her documents onto the roof of the car.
“Get out of the vehicle.”
“On what grounds?”
“I said, get out.”
Victoria realized the men were deliberately trying to intimidate her. She took out her phone to start recording, but the second officer abruptly opened the door and grabbed her arm.
“Put the phone away. Now.”
“Don’t touch me,” Victoria said firmly. “You’re exceeding your authority.”
Those words completely enraged the officers. The first one roughly pulled her out of the car, turned her toward the vehicle, and pinned her against the door. The second quickly pulled her hands behind her back and took out a pair of handcuffs.
“You’ll spend some time at the station, and maybe you’ll learn some manners,” he said as he locked the cuffs around her wrists.
Victoria neither screamed nor resisted. She simply looked over her shoulder at the officers.
“Are you sure you want to continue?”
“You think you’re going to scare us?” the first officer laughed.
“No. I’m just warning you that you’ve detained me without cause, used force against me, and failed to prepare any official paperwork.”
“We’ll deal with that later,” he replied. “Right now, you’re coming with us.”
Victoria remained silent for a few seconds before speaking calmly.
“Fine. But please take something out of the right pocket of my shorts. With my hands behind my back, I can’t do it myself.”
The officers exchanged glances. One of them smirked, assuming she was trying to trick them.
“What’s in there?”
“Take it out and see for yourself.”

The officer pulled out a small leather case. He opened it without much interest, but within a second his expression changed completely.
He looked at the photograph several times, then read the name, position, and the name of the agency. The smile instantly vanished from his face.
Victoria turned out to be an officer with the Internal Security Department, the unit responsible for investigating complaints about police misconduct. She was returning from a work meeting in her personal car, so the traffic officers had mistaken her for an ordinary young woman.
The second traffic officer snatched the ID and began reading it as well. His hands started trembling noticeably.
“Why didn’t you tell us who you were right away?” he asked quietly.
“Because I wanted to see how you treat ordinary people,” Victoria replied. “Now I’ve seen it.”
The officers immediately removed her handcuffs and began making excuses. They insisted that it had all been a misunderstanding, claiming that Victoria had refused to comply with lawful orders and had provoked the confrontation herself.

Victoria calmly showed him the footage, which clearly demonstrated that she had committed no traffic violation, had not resisted, and had repeatedly asked the officers to explain the reason for stopping her.
