When Amanda learned about a starving and abandoned dog in the mountains of Evans Creek, Washington, she took immediate action. She and her friend Dylan were determined to find this poor dog. For over an hour, Amanda and Dylan tried to lure the dog with food and treats, but their plan failed. The next day, they returned and saw the dog in the same spot. They tried again to entice it, but to no avail. That’s when the two friends had a brilliant idea. They decided that Amanda should lie on the ground and “play dead” to pretend she needed help. So, the next day, Amanda lay down on the ground near the bar. And what happened two hours later warmed the hearts of thousands of animal lovers around the world.
It all started when someone spotted a dog near a camp in Evans Creek, Washington. The dog appeared malnourished and scared. Whenever someone tried to approach, the dog would become aggressive. A few days later, a young woman named Amanda heard about the dog, nicknamed Bear. Amanda and her friend Dylan decided to rescue Bear and take him to a veterinary hospital. They tried to lure him with treats, but to no avail. He was too wary of people to come near. So Amanda decided to try a slightly different strategy. She lay down in a fetal position and pretended to be dead.
Soon after, Bear approached Amanda and seemed to want to help. He sniffed Amanda for about 20 minutes before moving away. But Amanda stayed lying on the ground. An hour later, Bear returned and this time sat next to Amanda. Over the next two hours, Amanda managed to earn Bear’s trust, and he began to understand that she was not a threat. Bear followed Amanda to her car and went with her to the veterinarian.
Eventually, Bear received the crucial help from two extraordinary women who refused to give up on him. Lost & Found Pets WA State, an animal protection organization, tried to locate Bear’s original owner but was unsuccessful. Fortunately, a family came forward and adopted Bear, who now lives happily in a loving home. Did Bear’s rescue story touch you too? Share it with your friends! Animal Bible Edition. Click “Like.
