Ace Patton Ashford, an 18-year-old rodeo roper, tragically passed away on August 12 following an unfortunate accident near Chilton, Texas. While he was helping a sick animal, Ashford’s leg got caught under the animal, which dragged him across an open field.
Although he was found with head injuries and was still alive when emergency responders arrived, Ashford later died in the hospital. Ashford was a talented roper who was just a few weeks away from starting his college studies at Hill College after recently graduating from Rosebud-Lott High School.
His obituary read: “Ace dedicated countless hours to roping to reach his full potential” and described him as someone who loved the outdoors, rodeo, and spending time with friends.
Ace Ashford’s tragic death has left a void in the lives of many who cherished him.
