This guy once weighed over 500 kg and was the heaviest man in the world 😱 Due to excess weight, by the age of 20 he could no longer walk, and by 30 he began to have difficulty breathing 😨
It was then that the man realized he could no longer continue like that and decided to lose weight 😢 First, he lost 170 kg, then another 130 kg, and he continues to slim down 😱 Now he can walk and breathe independently 💖

He once weighed nearly 600 kilograms. His body became a cage, and the bed was the only world in which he existed.
Juan Pedro Franco, a Mexican with kind eyes and a quiet voice, was long known as the heaviest man on the planet. But behind that headline was a story of pain, hope, and incredible strength of spirit.
Juan was born a healthy child but began to rapidly gain weight from an early age. In his teenage years, he suffered a severe injury and was bedridden.
That was when his rapid descent into the abyss of obesity began. By the age of 20, he could no longer walk, and by 30, he could barely breathe.
He lived in isolation, completely dependent on his mother’s help. His heart, liver, joints — everything in his body suffered. Doctors gave no hope. But inside Juan, a faint but resilient spark of will to live still burned.

In 2016, his story made it to the media, attracting the attention of leading bariatric surgeons in Mexico.
A team led by Dr. Jose Castro carried out extensive preparation — doctors, dietitians, and physiotherapists helped him for months. He first lost more than 170 kilograms before his body was ready for surgery.

Juan Pedro underwent a sleeve gastrectomy — a surgery to reduce the stomach size. This was only the first step. Over the following years, he underwent several more procedures and continued to lose weight.

He lost more than 330 kilograms, and for the first time in many years, he was able to stand on his feet and take his first steps.
Today, Juan is over forty and lives in León, Mexico. He is no longer bedridden. He walks, talks, and smiles. He is involved in music, dreams of traveling, and helps others by sharing his story.
