I noticed something strange on the grass and thought it was just a rope, but when I looked closer, I screamed in horror.

In my yard, I noticed something very strange. At first, it seemed to me that there was a rope lying on the grass — long, winding, as if someone had dropped it on purpose. But in the next moment, a thought struck me: “What if it’s a snake?!”
My heart started pounding. I quickly grabbed my phone, took a photo, and fueled by adrenaline, decided to get closer. Every step was difficult — it was too terrifying to realize it might be dangerous.
But when I finally got closer and looked more carefully, I was filled with true horror…
It was neither a rope nor a snake.

In front of me, a column of about 150 caterpillars was slowly crawling, as I later counted! They moved in a single line, tightly pressed against each other, as if following an invisible leader.
I had no idea such a thing was even possible — let alone in my own yard.
Where were they going? Why were there so many of them? These questions still haunt me. There are some assumptions that when caterpillars move together, it can scare off predators. Or, for example, it’s easier for them to find food this way.

Or maybe this way they save energy. The ones in front trample the path, and those in the back use less effort.
Do you have any guesses where they came from and where they were heading?
