Poachers hung the forest ranger upside down from a tree and, as they were leaving, laughed: “Have a nice time.” But when a wolf came running from the depths of the forest in response to his cries, the predator did something that almost made the ranger lose consciousness 😲😢

The forest ranger noticed them from afar. Four men were walking along a clearing with rifles, dragging their prey behind them. He stepped out to meet them and said firmly:
— Stop hunting immediately and leave the forest. This is a protected area.
They exchanged glances and laughed. The old man was alone, and there were four of them—strong, brazen, confident in their impunity.
— You will answer for your words, old man. No one has been born yet who can tell us what to do, — one of them hissed.
Everything happened quickly. They grabbed him, knocked him into the snow, tied his hands and feet. He tried to break free, but the strength was unequal.
— Let’s hang him on a tree as live bait. The bears and wolves will have a hearty meal today, — suggested another.
They threw a rope over a thick branch, hoisted him upside down, and secured the knots tightly. Blood rushed to his head immediately, and his vision darkened.
— Have a nice time. Tomorrow we’ll come back for your bones, — they said in parting and left, laughing.

Snow was falling in large flakes. The forest quickly sank into silence. The old man hung there, helpless, upside down, his arms numb. He understood that he wouldn’t be able to free himself, even if he fought to the very end.
He shouted, called for help, but there was only the forest around him. And then, from afar, a rustling sound was heard.
He expected to see people, but a gray shadow appeared between the trees.
A wolf.
The predator first stopped at a distance and watched carefully. Then it took a step. Another one. The snow crunched softly under its paws. Its amber eyes never left the man.
The forest ranger froze.
— This is it… — the thought flashed. — This is my end.
When the wolf let out a long howl, everything inside the old man tightened.
— It’s calling its pack… — he thought.
He was already saying goodbye to life in his mind when the beast did something that made the man catch his breath and sent a chill down his spine. 🫣😱
The continuation of the story was told in the first comment 👇👇

The wolf jumped up and grabbed the rope with its teeth. The old man thought the beast was tearing it to get to him. The rope tightened, creaked. The ranger opened his eyes and saw that the predator was fiercely tearing the rope, not him.
On the third pull, the knot loosened, the rope snapped, and the old man fell heavily into the snow. He lay there, unable to believe he was alive. The wolf stood nearby, breathing heavily, and looked at him calmly, as if it recognized him.
And then the ranger remembered. Last winter, while patrolling his area, he had come across a trap set by poachers. A young wolf was struggling in it. Its paw was caught in iron, the animal growled and tried to bite.
The old man could have walked past. But he carefully covered the animal with his jacket, opened the trap, and released it into the forest.
The wolf had turned back then too and watched for a long time. Now it did the same. The old man tried to get up. The wolf stepped back a couple of paces, let out a short howl once more, and slowly disappeared among the trees.
