The tragedy happened more than ten years ago, but the residents of Yaroslavl will never forget it. It all started when a neighbor heard a baby sobbing. He continued with his tasks for the day without giving it much thought. But the baby kept crying the next day. The sobs were coming from a house, but none of the neighbors had seen anyone inside, and the lights were never on, even in the evening. However, the neighbors began to worry and called the police. When they arrived, the house was completely deserted when they entered. The inhabitants had taken everything and disappeared.
Their child was the only thing they left behind. It was clear that the one-year-old girl found on the dirty floor had been there for several days. A thorough investigation revealed that the young girl’s name was Liza Verbitskaya, and although it seemed her parents were dead, no one could find them. Liza was taken to the hospital, where she quickly recovered. Inna Nika was caring for her sick son in the same hospital; she stayed by his bedside day and night. However, one day, she heard a cry coming from the room next door and went to investigate. When she met Liza, she felt a maternal instinct to care for and protect her.
