Fans are devastated by the news of the death of Frank Fritz, the antiques expert who became famous on the reality TV show American Pickers, at the age of 60. Fritz, who left the show in 2021, had been suffering from health issues and was hospitalized after suffering a stroke two years ago. The news was announced by Fritz’s friend and co-star, Mike Wolfe, who stated that Fritz passed away last night. “I’ve known Frank for more than half my life, and what you saw on TV was always what I saw: a dreamer as sensitive as he was funny,” Wolfe wrote in a heartfelt tribute on social media.

Frank was as great in front of the camera as he was behind it, and he had the ability to touch the hearts of many people simply by being himself.” Fritz and Wolfe rose to fame as the hosts of the reality TV show American Pickers, which debuted on the History Channel in 2010. The series showcased the two “pickers” traveling across the United States, searching for valuable antiques and collectibles in unexpected places.

We’re looking for amazing things buried in people’s garages and barns,” says the show’s opening narration. “What most people see as junk, we see as dollar signs. We buy anything we think we can make money on. We make our living telling the story of America… one piece at a time.” The show attracted millions of viewers and became one of the most popular programs on the History Channel.

In its first year, it was the #1 non-fiction series among viewers and adults aged 25 to 54. While the antiques were often intriguing, there’s no denying that the chemistry and charisma of the two hosts kept viewers tuning in again and again.
