Almost 20 years of marriage and 13 children: how are the spouses living who always dreamed of having a large family

LIFE STORIES

Alexis and her husband David have dreamed of a large family from the very beginning of their life together. Over nearly 20 years of marriage, they have become parents to thirteen children — ten boys and three girls. Their story is an example of willpower and patience, as well as great love and support.

Living in the small Scottish town of Dingwall, the Brett family has learned to cope with the daily challenges that come with raising a large family. Alexis, with her experience as a nurse, has fully dedicated herself to the home and the children. Each day begins early in the morning to prepare for a loud and active day.

Alexis admits that sometimes it is difficult to keep things in order, but she is proud of how her children are growing up together, supporting each other. Despite the fatigue, she maintains a positive attitude because every day brings new joys and challenges.

When their youngest daughter was born, the couple realized that this chapter of their lives had come to an end. However, despite having fulfilled their dream with the birth of their daughter, Alexis did not stop and gave birth to another son. This way, the family welcomed their thirteenth child — their second daughter, Scarlett.

Now that David has retired due to illness, Alexis manages the household, which involves huge expenses for food and caring for the children. Despite the challenges, she enjoys every moment spent with her family, relying on the help of her older sons and ensuring that everyone is comfortable.

The family lives in a five-bedroom house, where there is space for everyone, and a significant portion of the budget is spent on groceries, food, and clothing. Alexis never forgets about the children’s health, making sure each of them has everything they need, including new clothes and shoes.

The Brett family is an example of extraordinary patience, strength, and love. Even in moments of exhaustion, they remain a strong and united team, with everyone ready to support one another. Alexis and David are happy in their large family and claim that they no longer plan to expand it, although their story has become an inspiring example for many.
