Despite the prognosis, the boys grew up active and curious. Their parents realized that a normal life would be very difficult for them, so they decided to present the twins to the public.
From an early age, Ronnie and Donnie participated in fairs and shows, traveling across the U.S. and even to other countries.
For many spectators, they were a “curiosity,” but for the family, income from performances became a real lifeline — it was thanks to this that they were able to support seven other children.
As they got older, the twins stepped back from public shows but continued to live together, maintaining their remarkable sense of humor and cheerfulness.
They never married, but they were not deprived of simple joys: they loved watching sports matches, fishing, walking, and spending time with friends.
As they approached old age, their health began to show signs of strain. Because of the peculiarities of their bodies and the fusion of their bones, they developed serious mobility problems.
